Prior to joining the team at AG, Brett worked as an inventory specialist at Boston Cedar, a building materials wholesaler out of Mansfield, MA. Growing up, Brett had a very different idea of where he wanted to steer his career path, however, first trying his hand as an actor in his sixth grade play, Joseph (pictured below), then quickly switching to football in highschool when he realized girls no longer had cooties and NFL players get fat checks.

Born and raised in Weymouth, Brett has come a long way since Junior High and the days of his classmates calling him “Messy,” a seemingly obvious nickname for the ghost-white smiley kid that always came to school with fruit punch stains and oreo crumbs as chapstick. Nowadays, Brett’s favorite activities include; surrounding himself with music, being the lead singer in his co-ed gospel band, EmmerGospel (also pictured below), starting impromptu summersault parties, and soaking up free knowledge watching political, scientific, and nature documentaries on his Apple TV.

When we asked his fellow co-worker and life-long friend, Marc Spinella, for an embarrassing childhood memory, he said, “There are no embarrassing stories about Brett, he has been a beacon of positivity and led by example our whole lives.” While there may not be a plethora of truth to that statement, Marc certainly got one thing right - Brett embodies a consistent positive energy that makes him a very entertaining friend and sprightly comrade in the workplace. Marc also added, “He had deeper stains than the expensive wood used to build a brand new porch.”

When we asked Brett what his favorite thing about working at AG is, he replied simply, “The people.” One of his favorite days since coming on-board was the AG summer party, where he enjoyed cruising the Boston Harbor with co-workers and learning how to do the Morgan Laurenstern dance, aka The Cupid Shuffle.

If Brett could travel anywhere in the world, he’d go everywhere in the world. He said, “I’d like to travel to every continent at some point in my life. At this point, I’d especially like to go to South Korea. I had a few friends in college who were from Seoul, and they always told me how great of a place it is and how hospitable they are to tourists, so I’d like to see what all the hype was about.” It’s no wonder his favorite book/movie combo package is Into the Wild, by Jon Krakauer.

In the office, Brett sits on the blonde side of The Island, and to his fellow islanders, the only thing that remains a mystery to this day, is exactly how, and why, his bowl cut could have been SO large and SO blonde as a child.
