Today’s Pet Spotlight is Maegan’s cat Bootz, “The Fat Xmas Cat!” Bootz is 6 years old, has a very little head in comparison to his large frame, and high-pitched meow, something no one expects from this large beast. Believe it or not, Bootz was the runt of his litter, and cost Maegan over $700 in hospital bills and meds during the first two weeks she had him. Bootz enjoys lying around and being lazy, though he will go after a feather stick once in awhile if it’s within paw’s reach. He also enjoys beating up his (slimmer) brother Charlie during the night. Maegan regularly wakes up to squeals and clumps of Charlie’s fur throughout the house (poor Charlie!). When he’s not busy attacking his brother, Bootz loves being under the bed covers - just like Maegan’s 3-year-old loves making forts!

Tumblr was having technical difficulties on Friday, so we posted a shortened version of this Spotlight on Facebook. But now it’s time for the festively-dressed Sakura to fully shine!
Sakura was a shelter cat from Nebraska and adopted 3 years ago by Eric. She lives with Nami and two turtles, and wakes everyone up promptly every day at 6:50am for breakfast. She walks Eric to the door when he leaves for work and greets him when he comes home.
Sakura’s favorite thing in the world is tissue paper, especially tissue paper from Victoria’s Secret. She does not allow board games to be played in the house without her sitting in the middle of them (below, top left).

Lucy is the BFF (Best Furry Friend) of Elizabeth. The two met almost 12 years ago when Elizabeth’s 8th grade math teacher had kittens that needed homes. While Lucy might appear to be a standard tabby cat, she’s actually very unique. She has an extra toe on each of her front feet, which gives her a distinct advantage for giving high-5s, since for her they’re technically high-6s.
Lucy’s favorite things include pillows, blankets, boxes, string, and the occasional corn muffin. She dislikes boys (of any species), strangers, and loud noises. She’s not the most graceful cat, and routinely falls off of beds, couches, and tables. She rarely makes a jump on the first try. She has almost no survival instincts, but is an expert at being comfortable, stretching, and relaxing. When asked what she’d be if she were a human, Lucy replied, “Humans should be more like me!”

When you walk through the doors of AG the first thing you will see is Kevin’s smiling face waiting to welcome you. He came to AG 3 years ago after graduating from UMass Amherst with a degree in Marketing and a minor in IT. Kevin is a huge Boston sports fan and loves going to the Celtics and Sox games. Anyone who knows Kevin understands that his favorite thing in the world is his Bengal cat KiiKii (not his wifey), who frequently stars in LOLcat images created by Kevin.
Words can’t properly describe what a character Kevin is, so instead here are some pictures that might help…
