This week our employee spotlight is Ed! As a special treat we had one of Ed’s ‘favorite’ employees, Samantha, interview him. When asked to describe his relationship with Samantha, Ed said “Samantha who?”
Samantha: How long have you been at AG and what were you doing before?
Ed: I have been here for 4 ½ years and before this I was managing a motorcycle dealership.
And before that he was running a Speak Easy then harvesting fruit during the Great Depression.
S: What is your role here?
E: Director of Client Operations.
S: What was your favorite AG memory?
E: Summer party of 2008. We were at a beach.
Sidenote, I had just graduated high school and Ashley, our intern, has just been born.
S: What are some of your hobbies outside of work?
E: Motorcycling, hockey, cycling, yoga, camping…
…Yelling at kids to get off his lawn and watching M.A.S.H.
S: Do you have any pets?
E: Indie, my black lab and a cat named Myles.
S: If you could be any animal what animal would you be?
E: Bald Eagle.
S: Are you sure? Baldness runs rampant in this office.
E: Just an eagle then.
That is not what he would be though. Everyone knows he is the silver fox of AG.
S: What was your favorite joke I have ever made about you?
E: When you sent a picture of me signing the Declaration of Independence out at 4th of July and asked everyone to say thank you to me for fighting for our freedom.
S: Why are you not going on the company boat cruise? Is it because you were traumatized from the last boat you were on?
E: What boat was that?
S: The Titanic.
E: No.
S: What is your favorite color?
E: Azul. That would be blue.
S: Did you learn that from Montezuma?
E: *laughs*
I take that as a no comment.
Ed then took his walker and hobbled off into the sunset…

Since the Los Angeles Kings took home the Stanley Cup back in June, there has been only one thing on my mind: hockey and how much I miss it. I have personally been involved with the sport in all aspects and levels since a very young age. About six months ago, I began my career in teleprospecting and inside sales, and have come to realize teleprospecting and hockey bear striking similarities. A typical month in teleprospecting follows an almost identical path as your 60 minute hockey game, and many of the same methods for achieving victory (or success) can be applied to both. Here are 5 steps to winning in both arenas.
